AccoMontage Demo

ECNU Alma Mater Music

The Music X Lab of New York University Shanghai has recently completed the world's first Alma Mater Music arranged by AI, presenting a special 70th-anniversary celebration gift to East China Normal University (ECNU).

The entire arrangement is based on the main melody and chords of the original alma mater music of ECNU, and the piano accompaniment and four-part scores are re-arranged by AccoMontage, a frontier AI algorithm proposed by the lab. From the perspective of artistic creation, the main goal is to make the overall style youthful, vigorous and upward, revealing the modernity of the 21st century, and at the same time full of book flavor.

This demo is sung by the five team members who participated in the scientific research and production in Music X Lab. They are Jingyan Xu (Soprano), Ziyue Piao (Alto), Gus Xia (Tenor), Alan Chao (Bass), and Ziyu Wang (conductor). The piano performance is realized by the automatic piano Yamaha Disklavier. The AccoMontage algorithm (accepted by ISMIR 2021) is developed by Jingwei Zhao during his internship at the lab.
